Crypto Safety 101

September 2, 2025 5 min read

Entering the crypto world is exciting — but also risky. Scammers are everywhere. This guide will help you protect yourself, your wallets, and your assets.

1. Always Verify Links

Many scams use fake websites that mimic legitimate platforms. Always double-check URLs before connecting your wallet. For example, ensure the site starts with https:// and matches the official domain.

2. Protect Your Seed Phrase

Never share your recovery phrase with anyone — not even support teams. Store it offline, preferably written on paper and kept in a secure location like a safe.

3. Use Hardware Wallets

For long-term holding, hardware wallets like Ledger or Trezor are the safest option to keep your assets offline.

4. Beware of Free Tokens

Some "airdrops" are traps designed to trick you into approving malicious contracts. Don’t interact with suspicious tokens in your wallet.

5. Enable 2FA

Always use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on exchanges and accounts. Apps like Authy or Google Authenticator add an extra layer of security.
